Pebbles' Story
Enough of the Midwest’s blasting winter winds and searing summer sun. I was born for balmier climes, a heifer in my prime, yearning for a more colorful life and times. Word from East Coast cousins is they got a gig promoting some chicken chain – and they can’t even spell.
So when the rest of the herd trotted the trail to Chicago and St. Louis, I got a horn-icure, packed up my cowkini and hoofed my way toward the promising pastures of the Virginia, away from the stampede. But this career chick (oops, cow) was aiming higher than the cousins and their billboard antics or those pudgy piggies peddling barbeque.
By luck, after a trip longer than any cattle drive, I wandered into an udderly beautiful place called Suffolk. I was, of course, an undercover cow, traveling incognito on the lam from the old herd. But, not to blow my own horns, my cow charisma and tasteful bovine beauty seemed to charm the locals.
There I met my new BFF’s – the M & M’s, the McGanns and the Mullins – such delightful folks, they could have been cattle. They have, of all things, a chophouse right in Suffolk.
Their Riverstone Chophouse is old-fashioned in hospitality and stunningly Frank Lloyd Wright in its prairie architecture. No wonder I feel right at home – as do all the happy diners enjoying River Stone’s steaks, seafood and raw bar.
Now most evenings you’ll find me welcoming guests to the Riverstone Chophouse – but occasionally every bovine needs a break. That’s when I make my mooove – and who knows where you might find me?
